Switching to Elmira Savings Bank Is Easy HERE'S HOW:
- Open your Elmira Savings Bank checking account today.
You can open an account with us by visiting any of our 10 branch locations. Call (607)734-3374 to find out which branch is closest to you. You can also get started right now by clicking "Application Request" below.
- Stop using your old checking account.
Let all of the checks you have written on that account clear. Remember that this could take up to 10 days. Destroy your old ATM or debit cards.
- Change Direct Deposits.
Complete the Direct Deposit Authorization Form and give it to your employer, the Social Security Administration or your retirement plan.
- Change any Automatic Withdrawals.
You can use our Automatic Withdrawal Switch Form for this. Don't forget to send one to anyone who debits funds from your account using your old bank account number (i.e. online service provider, etc.). Also, remember to give anyone who debits funds from your account using your old debit card number your new debit card number when your card arrives.
- Close your old account.
You can use our Checking Account Closing Form to let your old bank know that you wish to close the account. This form also helps you tell them what to do with any money remaining in the account. Best of all, you can avoid the awkwardness of going to your old bank to close the account in person by sending this form directly to your old bank. Forms Provided by Elmira Savings Bank:
